Alex Guarnaschelli
Guarnaschelli was the daughter of Maria Guarnaschelli, and John Guarnaschelli. She completed her studies at Barnard College in 1991 with an art history degree. She worked at an American Place restaurant for one year at the minimum wage from the year 1991 through the year 1991. Guarnaschelli began her journey into the world of food by working with her mother to test many recipes and then creating cookbooks. Guarnaschelli began her career as a sous chef under Larry Forgione. Her son Marc Forgione was the Iron Chef. Guarnaschelli then went on to work in various restaurants in France and Los Angeles. Guy Savoy manages La Butte Chaillot. Before taking over Butter as its chef in charge, she was working at the restaurant of Daniel Boulud at his eponymous restaurant. She was the executive chef of The Darby restaurant until its closure. Chair of the Museum of Food and Drink's Culinary Council. Guarnaschelli released her first cookbook in the year 2013. "Old School Comfort food: How I Learned how to cook" includes autobiographical information and her favorite recipes from the book that she's adapted for home.
