Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is an American actor and TV host. She is a well-known actress all over the planet but especially in America. Sedgwick's love for the arts, Broadway and acting began when she was just 12 years older. Sedgwick got her first introduction to Broadway by her mother. Sedgwick had her first professional acting part in the age of 16 when she appeared on "Another World," which was a TV show. While she started out with small-time roles for television however, it was the notion of becoming an actress who caught her attention. Her first major screen appearance was in the film 'Born on the Fourth of July, in which she co-starred with Tom Cruise. Following the popularity of the film, Sedgwick got more roles in films such as 'Singles', 'Heart and Souls", 'Phenomenon' among others. A television film titled "Lemon Sky" Sedgwick met Kevin Bacon, an actor. The couple got married when they were just 22. Sedgwick was an incredibly popular actress in American television for her outstanding performance on "The Closer" which was a seven-season television show that won her the Golden Globe Award and Emmy.
